To quote one of the most famous guitarists in the world, Keith Richards, "There's been blues and there's been country music. And let's face it, those are the two vital ingredients of rock'n'roll." Karin Wright understands exactly what he means.

Get ready for the Norwegian countryrock artists third album titled "Too Rock'n'Roll For Country - Too Country for Rock'n'Roll! She loves both genres and has made up her mind to do what she loves the most and can't live without; both! If there's any artist she can be compared to, it would be Lucinda Williams. Both are country rockers with an honest and true approach to their craft. The album skillfully blends soft country ballads and high energy rock. 

The album kicks off with the title cut, an uptempo tune with some great banjo and this song pretty much sets the tone for the whole album. The second track has the feel of those wonderful Opry radio shows we used to listen to. In fact, this whole album has that feel. The music and lyrics are delivered with a simple honesty that is reminiscent of days gone by. I liked the harmonica on the intro and bridge on "The Fool", it's a sweet waltz. "Keep On Keepin' On" was another stand out track for me and it leads into "Lucky Once", a real sweet two-stepper and one of my favorite tracks but then there is bound to be something for everybody on this album since it contains fifteen tracks. Yep, I said FIFTEEN. You definately get your money's worth on this album. Oh, but wait, I have to mention "Room For Me." It's simply beautiful, the lyrics and the music but just when you're feeling all warm and fuzzy, the album switches gears. "Dealing With My Demons" is more rock'n'roll than it is country. 

The final track is "Little Drop of Love." It's a sweet ending to more than thirty minutes of first class entertainment. Wright has developed her own musical signature, characterized by a strong presence in her work, whether she's in the recording studio or on stage. Uncompromising, real, almost skinless. Her heartfelt lyrics are expertly supported by wonderful melodies.

On the album she is accompanied by some of Norways finest musicians. Their musical backgrounds are from rock, blues, and country. On the title track a couple of members from the renowned rockgrass band Hayseed Dixie join her on fiddle and banjo.

In a time where a whole generation is looking for quick solutions and short cuts to success, Wright is a hard working artist who has built herself a solid musical platform, brick by brick. On  "Too Rock'n'Roll For Country - Too Country For Rock'n'Roll" she adds a new dimension in to her musical universe. This the real thing from an artist with integrity! 

All I have to say after listening to the album is, "It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be Wright" (adapted from her song "You're The Man")
