Bailey James - Where It All Begins - Debut Album
At the ripe old age of thirteen, Bailey James is already a seasoned veteran when it comes to performing and when this exciting new country artist isn't in her seventh grade classroom, she can be found busy on Skype, brainstorming with hit songwriters in Nashville, recording songs at studios on Music Row, taking voice lessons with world-renowned singer Diana Reed, and/or learning how to play guitar.
Her debut album contains six cleverly written tunes. It kicks off with a real feel-good, up-tempo tune titled "Texas Swing", which is sure to be one of the most popular songs on this album. Both the song and the video are certain to make you smile and it is impossible to not get caught up in the rhythm. The up-tempo momentum keeps going with the next track, "For Never", before slowing down for "Over The Moon", which just might be my favorite track. Next comes "True Colors", a quick stepper with a true country feel, followed by "Maybe Love" and ending with the quick paced "Kiss Me".
The first time I ever heard James sing, it was a chance landing on Youtube of her cover of Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man". As a fan of Tammy, I had to stop to listen and when it said she was twelve years old, well, maybe in physical years, but the gal who was singing that song had to have lived and loved and lost and loved again. The voice I heard was from an old soul. I was intrigued so I looked for other videos by her and found her cover of Patsy Cline's, "Crazy"... and there it was again, that old country soul.
I think we will be hearing the name Bailey James a lot from now on.
On her website it says, "When she isn’t wrapped up in her music, Bailey enjoys hanging out with her friends and talking about boys, posting an endless stream of selfies on Instagram, and chatting up her fans on social media. She also loves quality time with her two cats and telling anybody willing to listen about that time Taylor Swift shook her hand during her Speak Now tour!”
Obviously, she has no clue that she is the new Taylor.
