Craig Campbell - Self-titled Debut Album

Craig Campbell was born and raised in the small town of Lyons, Georgia. Being able to perform with Tracy Byrd and Luke Bryan helped him catch the break he needed to pursue his own musical career. On the advice of Bryan, he began writing and singing his own songs which made him a more valuable commodity to the country music industry.
Campbell penned nine of the eleven tracks of this album including the first song to be released, "Family Man," which was inspired by the birth of his daughter. It gives you a look into the life of a hardworking, devoted, loving parent. I can honestly say, I relate to the verses,
"I've been working as a temp / At the local factory / I hope they hire me on full time / I've got shoes to buy and a mouth to feed."
A couple of my favorite cuts are "You Probably Aint" and "Fish," both are upbeat tunes that are guaranteed to give you a little chuckle. Throughout the entire CD Campbell's tenor voice is positively alluring, it reaches out and captivates you.
On his website it states, "The one word Keith used a lot with me is iconic, we don't want to be a one-song project, we're gonna shoot for 20 years." Keith meaning songwriter/producer Keith Stegall, best known for working with country artists Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band. Regarding this album he says, "It's traditional back-to-basics, true country music. It's what I am. I can't be anything else." Well, I think he hit the nail on the head, he has accomplished just that.
Be on the look-out for Craig Campbell, he will be touring this year on the Country Throwdown Tour with country stars Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Lee Brice.
