The Morrison Brothers Band - Self Titled

By: Connie Breeden, Sr.Editor
Who says you have to be from Nashville to be a country star? The Morrison Brothers, lead singer Willie and brother Truman, are from my neck of the woods, Washington DC. They have brought the country industry to a new level with their southern rock and country sound.
They have opened for, and shared the stage with, many of the biggest acts in country music today including Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Tim McGraw, Leon Russell, Frankie Ballard, Maggie Rose, Old Dominion and Big Smo.
I just received their new self-titled album, The Morrison Brothers, today, six tracks all cleverly written and very catchy. I popped it in my CD player and I can't stop listening to it. The first track, "Caroline & Carolina", has such great acoustics it made it impossible for me to sit still. After just one run through, I was wishing I was in Carolina with Caroline.
The second track is more fun than riding the double ferris wheel at the fair. "Party At My House" definitely has the vibe of a fun and crazy party.
"a cooler full of hunch punch / a spring break recipe / damn right it packs a big punch / knock you to your knees / got nothin' to do / no where to go / already been down every road / so check this address for a real good time / 3322 Riverside Drive"
Sounds like a good time! What's that address again? Oh yeah, "3322 Riverside Drive", look for me, I'll be there. The video for this track will be released June 20th, and I for one, can't wait.
The third track "My First Friday Night" slows it down a bit, it's one of those songs where you just close your eyes and quietly two step around the house. When you combine the fourth track, "Girl Like You", with the fifth track "The More I Look", and then throw in the sixth track, "Take A Shot", this will really have you fired up and wanting to find 3322 Riverside Drive.
