Robert Larrabee - Round Here
Review By: George Peden
Robert Larrabee’s developing talent has taken him from the safety of a bedroom, where the only audience was a mirrored reflection, to the whoops and yells of rowdy bars, to the silent sweat of talent shows and onto the rocky road of a touring Legends show.
But it has paid off.
The clean-cut Canadian has drawn real interest from the Nuts team. On a co-write with Jess Cates (noted Nashville writer), we predict Larrabee is jukebox bound with his latest single, “Round Here”.
The track is an energetic, fiddle-driven rocker made for thigh-slappin’ party crowds. The made-for line dancing beat, with its infectious fiddle, hand claps, powered bass line and hard pounded drums is a sure winner…if radio comes to the party with the needed spins.
Ever the hope and wish of the independent artist, radio is the much sought after medium if you’re going to bag the interest and build a lasting career in the hardest of all genres, that being country music.
But not only does Larrabee have the voice, the sharp looks and the motivation to break through, he has a strategy. He has a well formulated plan. Riding hard on the back of his album is a radio tour and some solid marketing to get corporate sponsorship to back the systematic release of the music.
It sounds good and so does his music.
We here at Nuts congratulate Robert Larrabee as he waits in the wings – it’s been a long walk from the bedroom to the Green Room, but round here that’s the only tried and true path.
