Sara Evans in Conert at Sea World Orlando Florida
By:Connie Breeden, Sr.Editor
After a long and tiring week at work, I was coaxed into a trip to Sea World in Orlando for a Sara Evans concert. I have always been a big fan of hers so I thought why not? Upon arriving and taking our seats, the announcer told everyone that her plane had been delayed but she was on her way. Forty-five minutes or so had passed and once again the announcer was on stage, "Hello again Sea World! I hope your ready to have a good time, because Sara Evans is in the house".
She has such an amazing voice, her music just reaches out and touches your soul, it's almost like static electricity, or a magnet, as it simply pulls you in. Performing hits from her double platinum album, "Born to Fly", she told the story of how her hit song "I Could Not Ask For More" came about. "I wrote the song when my son was born, being a new mamma I was so proud and thankful, the song is about waiting for something good to happen in your life. When I saw my son smile I knew 'I Could Not Ask For More'". Having children of my own, I could relate. As she sang, I looked around to see the expressions on my friends faces and was not surprised.
I wasn't the only one teary eyed. As the show went on the lovely Evans continued to wow the crowd with her hit songs, "Suds In A Bucket", "Coalmine", and one of my favorites, "A Little Bit Stronger". She had her fans singing along when she kicked it up a notch with "Cheatin", before slowing it down with "A Real Fine Place To Start", which she dedicated to all the lovebirds in the audience.
Upon closing she told us, "We are skipping the encore tonight", and she jokingly hid behind her guitar player and yelled, "Sara, Sara, Sara". She really had the crowd going, chanting with her, it was great!
So off to the encore she went, performing "My Heart Can't Tell You No", a song originally recorded by the pop/rock star, Rod Stewart. A song she says, "I have loved ever since I was a little girl. I got the chance to put it on my Stronger album. I did and I am glad I did, and to this day I still love it". At the close of the show, as she sang her version of Tammy Wynettes "Stand By your Man", all of the men in the house volunteerly rose to their feet. "Wow, would you look at that! This is the first time I have had this happen where all of the men stood up." As she walked off the stage I thought to myself, I am so glad I came.
After the concert when it came my turn to meet her, she asked if I had something I wanted signed? I was excited for the opportunity to tell her about a little boy named *Blake Appleton, from Winter Haven Florida, who is battling cancer. He loves country music and I knew he would love to have something autographed by her, so I asked. Her immediate response was, "Sure! I would be very delighted". On a piece of paper she wrote, "Blake, keep fighting! You are in my prayers!"
I would like to thank the amazing, charming, delightful, and beautiful Sara Evans from the bottom of my heart.
*Blake loves getting emails, pictures and what he calls "waves" from around the world. He can be followed on facebook at Blake Appleton fan group.
