Darrell Goldman - The Bed I've Made
Darrell Goldman:
The Bed I’ve Made

It’s long been a catch cry of mine the best of music doesn’t necessarily come chained to a major label. It’s also been a personal experience, when it comes to country music, Nashville doesn’t hold all the aces. I’m a big fan of Texas country -- Jarrod Birmingham, Chris Wall, Billy Joe Shaver, Ritchie Allbrght along with a host of talented others..you get my meaning.
So it was with interest when I heard Darrell Goldman. The Austin-based performer has just released his debut album. With a youthful sound, the album is a showcase of talent. His triple threat arsenal has him producing, playing and writing all the eight tracks on The Bed I’ve Made. The album is out and available now on I-tunes.
The first cut, the radio friendly “The Bed I’ve Made” is fast gaining interest. Easy on the ear, the reflective melody of hard times examined stays with you. Overall, this father to three young ones (two boys and a girl) has come up with an album that proves the long road to a music career is possible with talent – and good song writing chops. Both the needed criteria are on show here. Goldman’s voice is easy, polished and countrified, while his song writing holds considerable promise.
Standout tunes include the crafted “Between the Lines”, telling the tale of hard times eased by a faith bigger than given circumstances; “Gypsy Rose” a rockin’ slice of life that allows the band some volume, while “Tears and Loneliness” causes tuneful and familiar cardio concern.
Have a listen. I’m sure you’ll find The Bed I’ve Made more than comfortable.
