Kat Moore Band - Home
Review By: George Peden, Staff Journalist

The turbo-charged and Texas based Kat Moore has just hit the stores with a four track extended play. The mini-play is an aural showcase for the talents of a woman who has being trending the boards and fronting microphones since age 11. Her childhood obsession with all matters music proves the adage right – practice makes perfect. Moore has power, style and class. And those qualities play fully here.
This EP, a follow-up to the successful 2009 debut album Big Texas Sky, has Moore (and her polished band, lead by husband Dave Moore) in fine sounding mood.
Not only does this way-too-soon ending disk highlight a voice made for boots and buckles, but it also shows that if the neon ever loses appeal, Moore has talents that could easily find their path to mainstream artists.
She wrote both standout tracks on this EP. “You’re The Reason”, with its love-laced take on what makes the spark work and the CD Tex radio favorite Married Thing”, both scrub-up well, showing that Moore is no one trick Texas belle.
Moore’s music and solid feel for what she sings and writes puts her out there as not only a fan fav, but also a CSO watch and wait to arrive act.
Two thumbs from me.
Track listing:
1: You’re The Reason
2: Home
3: Married Thing
4: Willin’
